CREATIVE ITALY is a project aimed at developing and promoting creativity of Italian youth. It is managed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department of Youth in partnership with ANCI National Association of Italian Municipalities and GAI, Association of the circuit of Young Italian Artists.
The project aims at bringing forward new activities to develop a support network for young creative artists through training and information events, promotion and research activities.
Lately there has been an increasing need to provide services and practical opportunities for professional development to young people working in the various domains of visual and performing arts. Also, there is a need to plan for production sites, residences, dialogue among artists and to increase the sharing of information and the exchange of experiences nationally and worldwide aiming at improving the relationship between artistic production and the market.
The answer to these demands intertwines with the objectives of the project Italia Creativa: to set up a line of action aimed at improving the Italian creative heritage, in other words the young artists operating in the different artistic fields. This line of action is founded on the belief that this group of citizens is the innovative force of society, strongly persuaded that the future and the made in Italy are a resource to be exploited with new opportunities, ample freedom of action and concrete professional offers.
This line of action will be carried out by the Department of Youth in cooperation with ANCI, the GAI network territorial authorities and the private sector for both its start up and for its future management.
Italia Creativa (Creative Italy) turns to all Italian artists through an activity network system set up by some leading cities over the whole Italian territory in partnership with some co-host cities: Ancona, Bari, Biella, Bologna, Cagliari, Campobasso, Castrovillari (CS), Catania, Cremona, Ferrara, Florence, Forlì, Genoa, Lucca, Messina, Milan, Modena, Novara, Padua, Parma, Pavia, Perugia, Prato, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Salerno, Turin, Trento, Trieste, Venice, Vicenza, Viterbo, the Province of Teramo, the Region Piedmont and GAI Association.
The programme, focusing on priority lines of action and primary intervention sectors, has dealt with topics such as the artistic production, the connection between culture and the market, talent promotion, knowledge, professional growth, the development of facilities. In this process, the concrete actions already underway are the point of departure for the journey towards future developments.
