Anna Marziano (1982, Italy) is a filmmaker experimenting with the documentary form. Anna’s films keep traces of the experience of being in the world. Caring for the relational possibilities offered by a sound-recorder and a camera, her films question the transformations of individual/plural subjects, through time. Anna studied filmmaking at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Rome) and Political Sciences at University of Padova. In 2009 she moved to France supported by the Film Commission Friuli Venezia Giulia Fellowship. She attended the Ateliers Varan (Paris) and participated in Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains (Tourcoing). Her films are screened internationally: TIFF Wavelenghts, Torino Film Festival, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, IFFR Rotterdam, FIC Valdivia, Cinéma du Réel, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Media City Film Festival, Documenta Madrid, Punto de Vista, L’alternativa, LABoral Centro de Arte Gijon, FRAC Dunkerque, National Gallery of Art Washington DC, Wexner Center for the Arts, Experimenta Film Festival Bangalore, Museum of the Moving Image NYC, Ji.hlava Film Festival, Kerala International Film Festival among others...                   They are also visible on online platforms such as MUBI, DAfilms, Tenk.     Since 2012, she is based in Berlin (Germany). She was jury member for Torino Film Festival (Italiana.doc) in 2018. As invited artist, she run courses at Srishti School of Art Bangalore and Univeristy of Goettingen. Her films are preserved by the archives Cineteca di Bologna and Cineteca Nazionale in Rome. Retrospective of her works were guested at Volksbühne Berlin and at Wolf Kino Berlin, in 2019.
