Lorenzo Ritacco
Lorenzo Ritacco is a musician, author of Children of Silence (a collection of science fiction stories on the future of humanity) and Papatuanuku (a conceptual art book on the past of humanity), both part of the saga of The Great Silence (in collaboration with more than fifty artists, including multimedia artist Andrew Quinn, architect Alfonso Firmani, sculptor Calogero Condello, and many others). He has written music for Luca Trabucco, Stefano Sciascia, Duo LaRoi, Duo En Blanc Et Noir, Trio Ives and many others, including the short film Crisalide by Valentina Ercolini. He writes polytonal chamber music, post-minimalist works, songs, hip-hop and lo-fi productions, electroacoustic music, improvisations, hybrid compositions, and conceptual art exercises. He has previously written articles on pro-wrestling. He graduated with full marks, honors, and honorable mention, and was recognized among the Giovani di Pregio (Distinguished Youth) of the Municipality of Udine. He primarily plays American music and niche repertoire — notably using the sculpture "Marilyn" from artist Franco Maschio's catalog to perform the Concord Sonata by Charles Ives — although his workhorse is the Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. He follows in the footsteps of his great-uncle, the late painter, engraver, and philosopher Enrico Vannuccini (1900–1990), both as an eclectic artist and as a "disciple of the hands, expanding his horizons on the art of the fingers through drawing, card magic, and writing."
