Il ricamo Su Xiu è una forma d'arte tradizionale cinese risalente a 2000 anni fa,

basata sul ricamo con fili di seta molto sottili. Zhang Xue è stato il primo uomo

a padroneggiare questa tecnica e a modernizzarla, aggiungendo elementi e

stili minimalisti per portarla nell'era moderna. Accompagnato da sua madre Jindi Xue,

l'artista parlerà del suo percorso artistico, delle critiche che ha ricevuto come

tessitore e per il suo lavoro di rimodellamento, e dei suoi legami con il paesaggio

e la cultura cinese.

Su Xiu embroidery is a traditional Chinese art form dating back 2,000 years,

based on embroidery using very fine silk threads. Zhang Xue was the first man

to master this technique and modernise it, adding minimalist elements and

styles to bring it into the modern era. Accompanied by his mother Jindi Xue,

the artist will talk about his artistic journey, the criticism he has received as a

weaver and for his remodelling work, and his links with the Chinese landscape

and culture.
