The video documents a performance during which the action of making coffee is broken down
into its phases through the collaboration of eight people. It seeks to be a reflection on time,
about finding a measure for time other than the conventional one made of minutes and
seconds, and through an experience able to make it ‘visible’. The action in question is a
routine one known to most people as the conventional subdivision of chronological time. Its
execution broken down into stages occupies a period which becomes both the subject and
duration of the video. Images and time are closely linked with each other because the time it
takes to perform the action determines the duration of the video, as if the viewers are
watching a clock.
