Sapore di Lettonia

Qui rappresento la difficoltà nel portare a casa un sapore formatosi dopo l'esperienza in Lettonia. Ad Aizpute ho svolto il simposio "Iron Casting", l'opera è realizzata in ghisa. La pesantezza del materiale si adatta alla difficoltà riscontrata nel preparare una valigia riservata al trasporto delle sculture in aereo.

Intellectually, I understand one fact. I had a French housemate; she asked me to correct in Italian an explanation of her work. In that explanation, using easy and good words, I found something unique and personal related to everyday life. When someone talks about daily life, routine, and particular experiences, things take shape—something that ChatGPT cannot reach. This is a clear expression of humanity. She wanted to make a fox in marble, but walking every day on the street to go to the laboratory, she found a cat. Unconsciously, the fox started to appear like that cat; that happened to her. I used to talk about the problem between our quotidianity, like non-figurative news, but I never cared about my own quotidianity, or those aspects that speak about me. Here, I understand how to combine my easy daytime with some deeper facts that look at us. They look at us as humans and at our difficulties. The daytime spent in my life, which is also common in other people's experiences, gives me the possibility to find a shape for my work. In that easy way of facing life, a powerful message is hidden.
