Ehab Halabi Abo Kher

Ehab Halabi Abo Kher è un videomaker e vj israeliano che vive ed opera da diversi anni in Italia. E’ stato finalista al Premio Nazionale delle Arti (Catania 2008). Ha preso parte a diverse rassegne e concorsi nazionali e internazionali. Fra questi ricordiamo: Videoart yearbook (Bologna 2008), The Scientist Festival (Ferrara 2010) e la 54° Esposizione internazionale d’arte della Biennale di Venezia (Venezia 2011), Corpo Elettronico (Catanzaro 2012). Il suo trailer promozionale del Festival La Grande Musica per il Cinema, a cura della Fondazione Politeama di Catanzaro, è stato presentato alla 67° edizione del Festival del Cinema di Venezia (Venezia 2009). Peculiarità della sua produzione è la pratica del found footage, ovvero la riutilizzazione di materiale filmico, video e televisivo preesistente, di cui viene enfatizzata la dimensione metalinguistica, in una ricerca volta ad esplorare i complessi meccanismi della comunicazione. Ehab Halabi Abo Kher is an Israeli video maker and vj. He has been living and working in Italy for many years. He was a finalist at the Premio Nazionale delle Arti (Catania 2008). He took part in many national and international film shows and contests, such as: Videoart Yearbook (Bologna 2008), The Scientist Festival (Ferrara 2010), and the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennial (Venice 2011), Corpo Elettronico (Catanzaro 2012). His promotional trailer of the festival La Grande Musica per il Cinema, curated by the Fondazione Politeama of Catanzaro, was screened on the occasion of the 67th edition of the Venice Film Festival (Venice 2009). His production is characterised by the technique of the found footage, consisting in the reutilisation of pre-existing film, video, television material, whose metalinguistic dimension is highlighted, as part of an analysis of the complex mechanisms of communication.
